What changed in 2026

Renames, acquisitions and shutdowns that make older lists of vibe coding platforms out of date.

  • Cursor became part of SpaceX (deal closed Aug 14, 2026). Plans now include Grok models; Claude and GPT are billed at API list price. source
  • Windsurf was renamed Devin Desktop on June 2, 2026, under Cognition. Pro is $20/mo. source
  • Firebase Studio stopped taking new users on June 22, 2026 and shuts down on March 22, 2027. source
  • Gemini CLI stopped serving free and Google AI Pro/Ultra individuals on June 18, 2026; Google points them to Antigravity CLI. source
  • GitHub Copilot replaced premium requests with AI credits (1 credit = $0.01) and added a $100 Max plan. source
  • Lovable switched new projects from React + Vite to TanStack Start on May 13, 2026. source
  • Bubble shipped Agent 2 and AI credits (Oct 6, 2026); the web Starter plan rose to $39/mo. source

Best vibe coding platforms for non-coders

Chat to an app with the database, login and hosting handled for you.

These builders run in the browser and publish the app for you. The big differences are how they bill (credits per message, tokens, or a subscription), whether you can get the code out, and whether they build mobile apps. Lovable and Base44 make the fewest decisions for you; Bolt and Replit let you see and change more; Bubble and Softr keep you in a visual editor and don't export code.

  • LovableFree plan · $25/mo

You don't code and want a hosted web app with a database and login from a chat box.

  • BoltFree plan · $25/mo

You want a browser builder that can also produce an Expo mobile app and lets you pick the Claude model.

  • Base44Free plan · $16/mo billed yearly

You're building internal tools or business apps and want backend, auth and hosting with no setup.

  • ReplitFree plan · $20/mo

You want an agent plus a full cloud IDE, database and hosting in one place, and may grow into editing code.

  • Google AI StudioFree; Gemini API pay-as-you-go

You want to start free, build Gemini-powered web or Android apps, and keep the code in GitHub.

  • v0Free plan · $30/user/mo

You want clean Next.js + Tailwind + shadcn/ui code, Git pull requests and one-click Vercel deploys.

  • BubbleFree plan · $39/mo (web)

You want AI to start the app but a visual editor you can keep changing without reading code.

  • SoftrFree plan · $19/mo billed yearly

You need a client portal or internal tool on Airtable, Sheets or SQL data, with logins and permissions.

Best vibe coding tools for developers

AI IDEs and coding agents that work inside your own repo.

These edit a real codebase on your machine or in a cloud sandbox, so you choose the stack and the host. The practical questions are which models are included in the price, how usage limits work (5-hour windows, weekly quotas or credits), and whether you prefer a full editor (Cursor, Devin Desktop, Kiro, Zed) or an agent you talk to (Claude Code, Codex).

  • Claude Code$20/mo (Claude Pro)

You want the agent and model pair that currently tops Terminal-Bench 4.0 working across your whole repo, in a terminal, IDE or desktop app.

  • CursorFree plan · $8/mo (Grok only); $30/mo Premium

You're comfortable in a code editor and want an agent working inside your own repo.

  • CodexFree in ChatGPT; Plus $20/mo

You already pay for ChatGPT or want an agent you can try free, in a terminal or the ChatGPT app.

  • GitHub CopilotFree plan · $10/mo

You already live in GitHub and a mainstream IDE and want the cheapest paid agent access.

  • AntigravityFree; Google AI Pro $19.99/mo

You want a capable free agentic IDE and are happy with Gemini (or Claude on paid tiers).

  • WindsurfFree plan · $20/mo

You want an IDE that runs several local and cloud agents from one dashboard, with model choice.

  • KiroFree plan · $20/mo

You want structure: requirements, design and task specs before the agent writes code.

  • ZedFree with own keys; Pro $10/mo

You want a fast, open-source editor and plan to bring your own API keys or run Claude/Codex agents inside it.

Best vibe coding apps for mobile apps

Most browser builders only make web apps. For an app in the App Store or Google Play, these are the options. Publishing on iOS with any of them still needs your own Apple Developer account ($99/yr, per Anything's docs).

  • RorkFree plan · $20/mo

Mobile-first. Pro builds iPhone and Android apps and publishes to the App Store; Max ($200) writes native SwiftUI for Apple devices.

  • Anything$24/mo

Web and iOS/Android apps on Expo, with database, auth, Stripe and RevenueCat built in, plus a TestFlight and App Store flow.

  • BoltFree plan · $25/mo

Builds Expo (React Native) apps you preview in Expo Go; you download the code and submit with Expo's EAS CLI.

  • ReplitFree plan · $20/mo

Replit Agent builds mobile apps alongside web apps in the same project, sharing one backend.

  • Google AI StudioFree; Gemini API pay-as-you-go

Builds native Android apps (Kotlin + Jetpack Compose) and can publish to Google Play internal testing. No iOS.

  • BubbleFree plan · $39/mo (web)

Visual editor with native iOS and Android apps published straight to the stores on mobile plans (from $49/mo).

Arena WebDev ranks models by people's votes on web apps built from the same prompt, which is close to how vibe coders use them. Terminal-Bench 4.0 scores a model and its agent together on real terminal tasks. The official SWE-bench Verified board hasn't listed a new frontier model since February 2026, so we don't use it.

In practice the model is often chosen for you: Claude Code runs Claude, Codex runs GPT, Google AI Studio runs Gemini, and Lovable picks for you. Bolt, GitHub Copilot, Devin Desktop, Kiro, Cline and Zed let you choose.

The backend most vibe-coded apps use

Supabase pricing →

Most app builders either bundle a database or connect to Supabase, an open-source Postgres backend with auth and storage. Its free plan covers 2 projects that pause after a week of inactivity; Pro starts at $25/mo. Official Supabase integrations exist for Lovable, Bolt, v0 (Vercel) and Figma Make. Whatever you use, ask the AI to turn on row-level security for every table: it's the setting AI-generated apps most often get wrong.

How we picked and checked these tools

We included the tools people search for most with "vibe coding", plus the open-source agents and backends they connect to. 22 are live today; we keep one sunset tool listed so people searching for them find the migration path.

Every price was read from the vendor's official pricing page or documentation on Nov 3, 2026, and each tool page links its sources. Where a page only showed yearly prices or no numbers at all, we say so instead of estimating. Funding and revenue figures come from the company or from named publications.

Usage counts are computed from the stack field of our indie maker profiles, after merging spellings like "ChatGPT" and "OpenAI API". They show what makers publicly say they build with, not market share. Tools were chosen editorially, and none of the links on this page are affiliate links.

Vibe coding tools FAQ

What is the best vibe coding tool in 2026?

It depends on whether you code. For non-coders building a web app, Lovable and Bolt are the most complete chat-to-app builders (both $25/mo Pro, both with free plans). For developers, Claude Code and Cursor are the coding tools indie makers in our directory list most often; Claude Opus 5.5 with Claude Code leads Terminal-Bench 4.0 as of November 2026. GitHub Copilot is the cheapest paid option at $10/mo.

What is the best free vibe coding tool?

Google AI Studio's Build mode and Google Antigravity are the most capable free options for individuals in November 2026.
