Brett Williams

Brett Williams is a designer from Phoenix, Arizona, best known for Designjoy, an unlimited design subscription he runs entirely by himself. Clients pay a flat monthly fee, drop requests onto a board and get them delivered one at a time, which turned a classic agency service into a predictable, productized recurring business.

He launched the service in July 2017 under the name Hue while still working a full-time job, renamed it Designjoy and kept it as a side business for several years before going full-time. As demand grew he repeatedly raised his monthly price instead of hiring, staying a one-man studio while revenue climbed past seven figures a year.

Brett now shares the playbook through Productize Yourself, a course on building a solo productized service, and is building new products such as GatherOS and Playgrnd. He is a frequent example in the indie community of how a single operator can run a high-revenue service business without employees.
