Founder of Paperbell coaching software; bootstrapped and sold MeetEdgar

About Laura Roeder

Laura Roeder is an American entrepreneur who quit her first and only job in 2007 to work for herself. She spent her early years as a web designer and online business consultant, then built an information-product business teaching social media marketing through LKR Social Media, and she is credited as a co-founder of Marie Forleo's B-School.

In 2014 she moved from courses into software and founded MeetEdgar, a social media scheduling tool known for automatically recycling evergreen posts. She chose to bootstrap it rather than raise outside money, and in an interview reported that the fully remote company had grown past $2.8M in annual recurring revenue. She has written about running a seven-figure business with zero meetings and on a part-time schedule.

In 2020 she and her husband Chris launched Paperbell, an all-in-one platform that lets coaches sell packages, take payments and book sessions. To focus fully on Paperbell she sold MeetEdgar to SureSwift Capital at the end of 2021, with the deal announced in January 2022. Paperbell says it has processed more than $47 million in coaching payments.

Originally from Austin, Texas, Roeder has lived as a digital nomad and is now based in Brighton, England. She is known online for an anti-hustle approach to entrepreneurship and writes about business on her blog.
