Why they sold: After about seven years running MeetEdgar, Roeder wanted to focus fully on her newer company, Paperbell, a software business for coaches.

The story of MeetEdgar

MeetEdgar was a social media scheduling tool founded by Laura Roeder in 2014, best known for automatically recycling evergreen posts. Roeder moved into software from an information-product business teaching social media marketing. She chose to bootstrap MeetEdgar and ran it as a fully remote company.

MeetEdgar's own announcement says the sale to SureSwift Capital closed in winter 2021, and SureSwift announced it publicly on January 19, 2022. SureSwift buys SaaS businesses from independent founders and runs them as part of a portfolio. Terms were not disclosed.

Roeder said she was confident SureSwift's SaaS experience would protect the customer experience, and she moved on to work full-time on Paperbell.
