Productivity YouTuber behind Ultimate Brain, Notion tutorials and the Flylighter clipper

About Thomas Frank

Thomas Frank is an American productivity creator and Notion educator from Iowa. In 2010 Frank started College Info Geek as a dorm-room blog about studying more effectively, and the site became a full-time business before graduation, later reaching hundreds of thousands of students a month. It spawned the free study-skills book 10 Steps to Earning Awesome Grades, a long-running podcast that became The Inforium, and a main YouTube channel on productivity, habits and finance with millions of subscribers.

Frank's second act came from Notion. After running the whole business inside the app, Frank packaged those systems into paid templates such as Creator's Companion (2021) and Ultimate Brain (2022), and taught them on a dedicated tutorial channel, Thomas Frank Explains. Frank also published a free, exhaustive Notion formula reference and a set of free templates and courses that many people learned the tool from.

In January 2023 Frank publicly broke down the numbers: about $1M in Notion template sales during 2022, roughly three quarters from Ultimate Brain, almost none of it driven by the large main channel. The business runs with a small team and tools like Lemon Squeezy, Circle and Pipedream.

More recently the focus has shifted toward software. Frank co-builds Flylighter, a fast web clipper that captures articles, highlights and notes into Notion databases, and releases open-source Notion automations and a JavaScript helper library for the Notion API on GitHub.
