Ruben Gamez

Bootstrapped founder of SignWell e-signatures and Bidsketch proposals

About Ruben Gamez

Ruben Gamez is a Portland-based software founder who has bootstrapped two SaaS companies over more than fifteen years. He started Bidsketch, proposal software for freelancers and agencies, as a one-person side project in 2009 and quit his job to run it full time in 2010.

Bidsketch customers kept complaining about expensive and clunky e-signature tools, so Ruben built a signing feature called Docsketch, which grew into a standalone product and was rebranded as SignWell in 2019. SignWell offers simple, affordable electronic signatures and has since grown to several million dollars in annual recurring revenue with a very small team, competing in a crowded market dominated by large players.

Ruben is a long-time member of the bootstrapper community, has appeared on podcasts such as SaaS Club, and writes about SaaS marketing, SEO and positioning on his personal blog, Extends Logic.
