Kieran Drew

Kieran Drew is a British writer and online educator best known for teaching people to build a business by writing online, and for leaving a roughly ten-year career as a dentist to do it. He has more than 240,000 followers on X, a weekly newsletter with more than 34,000 subscribers, and says he has made over $1.5 million online in under five years.

Drew started writing online in 2020 after hearing Naval Ravikant's ideas on leverage and building in public. He cut his dental work from six days a week to three to free up time to write threads and essays on X, grew quickly by sharing practical frameworks about writing, hooks and personal branding, and hung up his dental drills about a year later, in 2021.

He turned the audience into a small education business. His course High Impact Writing, which teaches people to attract a quality audience through written content, was reported in 2024 to have grossed about $349,000 from more than 1,000 sales, with one relaunch bringing in roughly $142,000 in four days. An earlier product, Viral Inspiration Lab, grossed about $85,000. He has since added Magnetic Emails, a course on story-driven email, and coaching, and appears regularly on creator podcasts to talk about launches and offers.

In 2026 Drew published a video breaking down how he made $1,544,136 writing online in under five years, and he is finishing his first book, Magnetic Writing, for which he offers a free chapter to newsletter readers. His Saturday newsletter shares one five-minute strategy for growing a business through writing.

Drew is a prominent example of the creator-educator path that grew on X in the early 2020s: a professional in an unrelated field who used public writing to escape a traditional career and build a one-person, high-margin business.
