Evidence-based content, courses, workshops and community to help knowledge workers think and work better.
Neuroscientist and founder of Ness Labs, author of Tiny Experiments
Anne-Laure Le Cunff is a neuroscientist, writer and founder of Ness Labs, a learning community and newsletter about making the most of your mind. After working at Google, Le Cunff moved to London to pursue a PhD in psychology and neuroscience at King's College London, and began writing up what was being learned as a way to understand the material properly.
In July 2019 Le Cunff launched the Maker Mind newsletter with a public challenge to publish 100 articles in 100 days. The challenge brought several thousand subscribers, hundreds of thousands of pageviews and multiple Hacker News front pages, and became the foundation of Ness Labs. The newsletter has since grown past 100,000 readers, supported by consistent weekly publishing, a deeply interlinked article library and steady search traffic.
Ness Labs earns money through a deliberately low-priced membership community that bundles courses and workshops, plus carefully vetted sponsorships and team workshops. Le Cunff has long practised building in public, which Le Cunff describes as working with the garage door open, sharing numbers and experiments along the way.
In 2025 Le Cunff published Tiny Experiments: How to Live Freely in a Goal-Obsessed World, a book arguing for replacing rigid linear goals with small, curiosity-driven experiments. Le Cunff also works as a neuroscience researcher at King's College London.
