Alex Hillman

Alex Hillman is a Philadelphia entrepreneur who founded Indy Hall in 2006, one of the world's oldest fully independent coworking communities. He has spent nearly two decades running it as a bootstrapped, member-funded business and writing about community building.

With Amy Hoy he co-runs Stacking the Bricks and its flagship course 30x500, which teaches people to build products by researching where their audience already talks about its problems, and the two co-organize a conference for small business owners. He also wrote the manifesto behind 10k Independents and has run events for solo business owners and freelancers.

More recently Hillman has been building JFDI, an AI assistant he uses to help run his community and businesses, and describes himself as an AI tinkerer.
