exit story ยท 2023 ยท ai builders
Support Guy was built by Shri Vatz and sold to XO Capital in 2023 for ~70x ARR (self-reported).
Support Guy was a ChatGPT-powered support chatbot trained on a customer's website content. It was the second product Shri Vatz built after leaving Zoho to work independently.
On May 11, 2023 Vatz listed Support Guy on Microns.io and Acquire.com and quickly got several offers. XO Capital, which had bought his first product, Cold DM, the previous November, then got back in touch with a quick-close offer. Because of their existing relationship, Vatz signed the purchase agreement within about 30 minutes, and payment and asset transfer began the same day.
Vatz described it as his second exit in about nine months of indie hacking and said the price was about 70 times annual recurring revenue. He went on to build Guidejar.

After a round of bug fixes cut new-customer acquisition by about 70%, Nico Jeannen didn't want to spend months on code fixes and support, so he sold quickly before burning out.
