Florin Pop

Developer turned indie hacker on a public $1M revenue journey

About Florin Pop

Florin Pop is a Romanian developer, YouTuber and indie hacker who is documenting a self-imposed challenge to earn $1,000,000 in revenue while sharing every number along the way. He started out freelancing, then became known for frontend tutorials and coding challenges on YouTube and X, reaching 100,000 YouTube subscribers in early 2021.

In December 2022 he launched iCodeThis, a platform where developers sharpen their HTML, CSS and JavaScript skills by rebuilding real UI components. Leaning on his existing audience and affiliates it grew to tens of thousands of members, and in 2025 he sold it to Boot.dev for $50,000. Alongside it he has sold a 50-projects coding course, an ebook on making money as a developer, a gamified time tracker and 1-on-1 consulting.

His personal site keeps a running revenue tracker for every project he has launched since 2019, making him one of the more transparent build-in-public creators. More recently he has been experimenting with AI-assisted products such as Content Copilot, a tool that surfaces viral Instagram Reels for creators.

After about two years of running it, Florin Pop felt burned out, wanted to focus on new projects, thought someone else could take it further, and wanted the flexibility of $50K in cash.
