Adam Pietrasiak

Adam Pietrasiak is a self-taught developer and designer from Poland, based in Kraków, who builds Screen Studio, a macOS screen recorder that automatically adds smooth zooms, cursor animation and polished backgrounds so recordings look professionally edited without manual work.

He started building websites as a child and had several earlier ventures before Screen Studio. He grew the app largely by building in public on X, sharing work-in-progress demos of its zoom and cursor effects, and later through word of mouth and an affiliate program. Starter Story reported in 2024 that the bootstrapped, profitable product had reached around 8,000 customers in its first nine months and about $30K a month in revenue.

Screen Studio became one of the best-known indie Mac apps of the past few years and is widely used for product demos and launch videos.
