About OMOCAT

OMOCAT is the pseudonym of an illustrator and the name of their indie art studio, best known for the psychological horror RPG Omori. The game grew out of Omoriboy, a webcomic blog OMOCAT started to cope with a difficult period in their life; they originally planned it as a graphic novel before turning it into a game.

A Kickstarter in 2014 was funded within a day, but development stretched over six and a half years in RPG Maker with a deliberately small team, including musicians Pedro Silva, Jami Lynne and Calum Bowen. Omori finally released in December 2020 for PC, followed by console versions in 2022. Praised for its art, soundtrack and portrayal of anxiety and depression, it sold over one million copies by December 2022.

The studio also runs a large merchandise business and has expanded the Omori world with a manga adaptation (2024) and an official artbook and walkthrough.
