Brazilian indie Mac and iOS developer behind AirBuddy and VirtualBuddy
Guilherme Rambo is a Mac and iOS developer and security researcher based in Florianópolis, Brazil. He is best known as the solo developer of AirBuddy, a Mac app that brings iPhone-style AirPods and Bluetooth device status to macOS, which he has been building since early 2019 and handles himself across design, development and marketing.
Alongside AirBuddy he has released a string of open-source and indie utilities, including VirtualBuddy, a popular macOS virtual machine app for Apple Silicon, and the unofficial WWDC app for macOS, plus smaller tools such as StatusBuddy, NoiseBuddy and DarkModeBuddy. He writes about reverse engineering, Apple internals and his projects on his blog, rambo.codes, and has published security research such as SiriSpy, an iOS bug that could let apps listen in on Siri conversations.
Rambo is also known in the Apple community for digging through unreleased Apple software and writing about his findings for 9to5Mac, and for co-hosting the Stacktrace podcast with John Sundell, which covers Apple platform development and news.
