Easlo

Singapore-based Notion template creator behind Second Brain and SyncTasks

About Easlo

Easlo is the online name of Jason Chin (Jason Ruiyi Chin), a Singapore-based creator best known for minimalist, black-and-white Notion templates. The name, derived from the word easy, was adopted in 2021 around the idea of making life easier for people.

Jason discovered Notion in high school and taught themself to build templates from YouTube tutorials. Following the common indie advice to build an audience before having a product, they started posting about productivity tools on X while doing national military service and could only work on weekends. They began producing templates in summer 2021 and started charging that November, selling through Gumroad.

The templates draw on methods like David Allen's Getting Things Done and Tiago Forte's Building a Second Brain. The Second Brain system became the flagship, alongside a Finance Tracker, Bullet Journal and 30+ other templates. Business Insider verified about $239K in sales for 2022, and an Indie Hackers profile later reported around $20K a month with hundreds of thousands of followers on X.

More recently Easlo has expanded beyond Notion: co-building the minimalist iOS task app SyncTasks with developer @karl_apps, launching The Digital Minimalist resource site, and publishing small experimental apps.
