Singapore designer behind Sendy, the self-hosted newsletter app on Amazon SES
Ben Ho is a self-taught designer and programmer based in Singapore and the creator of Sendy, a self-hosted email newsletter application that sends campaigns through Amazon SES. Sendy launched in August 2012 with a one-time license price instead of a monthly subscription, pitching bulk email at a fraction of the cost of traditional email marketing tools (Sendy now quotes about $1.60 per 10,000 emails).
Sendy has been maintained for well over a decade, with Ho personally answering questions on its support forum since its early days. The current version adds features such as an AI assistant for templates, and the app remains a popular choice for bootstrapped publishers who want to avoid per-subscriber pricing.
Ho also co-founded Hex, a Singapore web design and development studio, with Melly Fong in 2007.
Sendy was created by Ben Ho, a Singapore-based designer and developer, and launched in August 2012.
Sendy is sold as a one-time license and is self-hosted, with emails sent through Amazon SES at about $1.60 per 10,000 emails.
