Sacha Greif

Paris-born, Kyoto-based maker of the State of JS developer surveys and Sidebar

About Sacha Greif

Sacha Greif is a French designer, developer and entrepreneur who lives in Kyoto, Japan. Originally from Paris, he worked as a designer before deciding he wanted to build his own products and re-learning web programming; he moved to Japan in 2012.

He is best known for the State of JavaScript survey, which he started in response to talk of JavaScript fatigue and which grew into a family of annual developer surveys, including State of CSS, State of HTML and State of React. Running these surveys is now his main work. Earlier projects include Sidebar, a daily newsletter of the five best design links with more than 35,000 subscribers, the Discover Meteor book co-written with Tom Coleman, the Telescope news app and the open-source Vulcan.js framework.

Greif also co-organizes the Hacker News Kansai meetup and has written a free guide to community building.
