Paul Kafasis

Paul Kafasis is the co-founder and CEO of Rogue Amoeba, an independent Mac software company he formed in 2002 with Alex Lagutin and Quentin Carnicelli. Its roots go back to 1998, when Kafasis and Lagutin began working together on MacAMP-related software.

Rogue Amoeba makes some of the best-known audio utilities on the Mac: Audio Hijack, which records audio from any app, Loopback, which routes audio between apps and devices, SoundSource, which gives per-app volume, equalizer and effects control, and Farrago, a soundboard used by podcasters and broadcasters. The company has stayed small and independent for more than two decades, selling its apps directly to customers.

Kafasis writes regularly on the company's blog about the Mac platform, App Store policy and running a long-lived indie software business.
