Chicago developer and co-founder of the bootstrapped podcast host Transistor.fm
Jon Buda is a software developer based in Chicago who co-founded Transistor.fm, a bootstrapped podcast hosting and analytics platform, with Justin Jackson. Buda had already built an early podcast hosting tool before the two met at the XOXO festival in 2014, and they became partners on Transistor at the start of 2018.
Buda is the company's co-founder and president and leads much of the engineering, while Jackson acts as CEO. Transistor reached $20K in monthly recurring revenue in under a year and has grown into a small, profitable team serving tens of thousands of podcasts, including private podcasts for companies.
He has since stepped back from posting on X.
