About Alexander Isora
Alexander Isora is a self-taught developer and designer who started out as a web developer in 2014. After building around a hundred client websites, Alexander decided to make a website builder of their own, and in July 2018 launched the MVP of Unicorn Platform, a landing page builder for startups and SaaS founders, which, by their account, took about 160 hours to build. Early lifetime-deal sales brought in more than $9K and provided the runway to keep going.
Alexander ran Unicorn Platform as a bootstrapped, mostly solo business, handling design, code and marketing themself. By late 2020 it had passed $4K MRR, and it eventually reached about $16K MRR and roughly 25,000 users. In July 2022 they sold it to John Rush's no-code company Mars for a reported $800K, split between $400K in cash and $400K in Mars equity, and stayed on to run the product for a time afterwards.
After the sale, Alexander wrote MRR.guide, a paid guide on getting a SaaS to its first 100 paying customers with zero-budget marketing, made YouTube videos about building and launching SaaS, and started Paracast, a tool that turned URLs into product videos. They also sell premium startup domain names through saas.page. In their own words on their site, they have since stepped back from indie making and listed the remaining side projects for sale.
