Ryan Ashcraft

Ryan Ashcraft (who also publishes as Ryan Wesley) is a software designer and developer in the San Francisco Bay Area who makes Foodnoms, a simple, privacy-focused food and nutrition tracking app positioned as a lighter alternative to bloated trackers like MyFitnessPal.

He grew up in Virginia and North Carolina, started building websites at 12, and earned a computer science degree from Georgia Tech in 2013. Before focusing on Foodnoms he interned at Apple and worked at Yahoo, Amplitude and Confluent. He writes about what he learns building the app, including a public postmortem of a Foodnoms outage, and released FabBar, a Liquid Glass-style tab bar component for iOS.
